3-11/16 in. replacement lock for patio door
Thanks,
Lou
Hey Lou, thanks for clarifying. This is a pretty interesting problem; I haven't come across it before, and while the 82-106 is the right replacement for your old thumb latch, I fear it will have the same issue your old latch did. But it would be a shame to have to replace your mortise lock again with our 82-218, although I know for a fact will work with this thumb lever. I'm forwarding this discussion to one of my senior colleagues who specializes in sliding door hardware, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can with more thoughts.
In the meantime, I have confirmed that my manufacturer is Cascade Windows (800-442-8544) and the model of the patio door is a 6080 PD2- low-e Gardian glass, vlnyl frame, almond color.
Thanks for your patience. I'm afraid the name of the manufacturer doesn't help us in this case. I couldn't find anything related to this mortise but with a slightly wider opening. I'm wondering if it was just a different mold. If so, it may not be something we can get.
One thought would be to file the lever tail down a little to make it thinner to fit into the slot on the mortise. What do you think? I know it's not ideal, but it would be less expensive than a new lock and I don't see any reason why it won't work.
