3 OF MY CRANKS HAVE PULLED OUT

Home Owner from YORK, PA
MY HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1987 WITH SOME CRANK WINDOWS. 3 OF THE CRANKS HAVE PULLED OUT OF THE UNIT WHEN CLOSING. IS IT NECESSARY TO REPLACE THE WHOLE CRANK UNIT? 2 HINGE ON THE LEFT, 1 HINGES ON THE RIGHT. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. SUSAN

Thanks for posting. When you say crank, do you mean the handle for your crank operator? If so, then is there a gear at the end of the handle when it pulls out? If so, then you will need to replace the whole operator. That gear is not meant to come out and it means your operator is stripped.

THANKS, TOM. THE COUPLING THAT KEEPS THE "SCREW" PART IN PLACE IS CRACKED - I AM SURE I NEED THE WHOLE UNIT. ON THE ARM THAT ATTACHES TO THE WINDOW, IT IS STAMPED Truth TO 06T ACH. DO I NEED THE MEASUREMENTS OF THE WINDOWS? THANKS, SUSAN

Hey, Susan. I can't identify it based on that stamp alone, though knowing that it's a Truth operator narrows down the search. The fastest way for us to identify what you have is just by seeing a picture. Could you snap a few shots of both the base and the arms of the operator? Once we see those, we will be able to find a replacement.

In the meantime, you might want to browse through our Truth Casement Hardware Section and see if you can find something here that matches your hardware.

I ordered Caradco Units 39-155 & 39-156 & received them in 3 days. My contractor installed them . . . very easy to install. These cranks have been broken for years & I am so happy to have my windows working again. Thank-you, Tom, & SWISCO. I WILL recommend your site (my contactor plans to use your site, too)

That's great news! I'm so glad they worked out. If you need any help in the future, please don't hesitate to ask.
