60s awning window crank

Handy Person from Austin tx
Our house is built in 1960 and we have four awning windows with the same original hardware. Two of them have the same issue. The crank no longer works. I've been told it is an inner hardware issue. Not just the threading on the handle I can't even see how to get the hardware off the window without ripping the bouytom window trim apart.

Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm afraid we don't have a direct match for this. I can't promise we'll have a suitable option, but please allow me to consult one of our senior experts. We'll reach back out when we have more information!

Thank you for looking into it. I hate to tear the bottom of the frame out. Just hoping there's an easier solution. Do you happen to know if the trim has to come off to swap this out? I can't see how it would come out without removing the trim but maybe I'm just not doing it right.

Take a look at the 39-389 and 39-390. These awning operators look similar to yours. Review the specifications along with the related videos and see what you think. The only trim you would need to remove would be the "sill cover" trim piece just over the operator. We show how we do this in the tutorial videos on this page.
