Hi I'm here replacing the clyinder keys, but when I try to lock them they stuck in the locked position. Until I press the little release they then can unlock. Am I able to take the unit apart or do I need a new one? I feel like it could happen to the new one as well?

Hello there. I'd first make sure you know what the culprit is. Try removing the handle set from the door, then try manually 'throwing' the mortise lock with a slotted screwdriver. If it is very hard to budge without pressing that release pin, then the mortise lock probably just needs to be replaced outright. See the 82-260. If it seems to run smoothly, then the key lock cylinder might be the issue. You could replace it with the 82-310, or with an all-new 82-086 handle set. Let me know if you have questions.
