Alcan Window Top Sash guides

A home owner from Tampa Florida says:

I have several Alcan windows that will not stay up, they have to propped up.

The sashes are sprung and now are near to the top of the top part of the window.

It looks like there are some clips that are missing that hold long plastic inserts on either side of window.

The plastic insert are now sprung and stretch high above the lower part of the windows.

I think I need 4 of the clips that hold the top of the Alcan sashes in place.

It looks like the part numbers are 2910 then an 8 or mirrored capital B.

Can you let me know the pricing, and do you think this solves the problem.

I think the clips are the solution

Seeing as how you have an Alcan window, you might have the 18-161 top sash guide. These install on either corner of the sash and prevent the balance from shooting up. I'm not so sure about the balance itself, though. Sounds like you have a 30" block & tackle balance with a stamp option of 2910. Now you just need to pick out the top and bottom fittings in order to determine the Series.

I recommend that you look at our Channel Balance Home Page and follow the steps in order to find the Series that best matches what you have.
