Then number you have provided only indicates the spring strength of the balance. In no way does it help with the identification of the balance, or which replacement will work. We will need to see photos showing the complete balance removed from the window. Once we see it, we can touch base with some suggestions. I also encourage you to review our selection of different balances we offer here. |

Thank you for the photos. However, it looks like the bottom balance shoe is not visible or must have broken off. Both nylon fittings at both ends of the balance play a crucial role when identifying the balance and which replacement could work. We will need to see some additional photos of the other end of the balance in order to narrow down which replacement balance to recommend. |

Thank you for the additional photos. Your balance looks close to our S351-28 and S390-28. The difference between these two balances lie in the depth of the bottom balance shoe. For the Series 351, the depth of the bottom shoe is 1" and for the Series 390 is 1-1/8". You will need to measure the depth of your bottom balance shoe, like in the diagram below, to determine which balance would make the best match. Whichever one chosen will go with a 2740 option. Comparison of 15-001 & 15-002

We can not get a good read on your measuring tape. Could you please type out the measurement you are getting? |

You may want to measure one that is not broken to get the most accurate measurement and go from there. |

With the part still being installed in the window, we have no way of identifying what you have or what is needed. You will need to remove the part completely from the window, and attach photos showing the entire piece, and provide some detailed measurements. |

Welcome back. Take a look at our 18-009 top sash guide and see if your measurements are compatible with ours. |
