American Craftsman Window Mechanism

Home Owner from Fresno, California
I'm selling my home but need to repair or replace windows. I have the American craftsman double hung. The mechanism needed to hold window up when opened does not work and another window does not stay up to stay closed. Can this be a part repair (if so which part) if not, do we need to replace window

Hello!

It sounds like you're having issues with the window balances. If that's the case, we'll need more information in order to help. Can you remove an undamaged balance from the window and show us a few photos? We may likely need more photos and information since we don't know what kind of hardware you have yet. Just something to keep in mind.

We replaced the cast pivot bars but since the private bar shoes are broken they don't go up with the window and window falls. Can just the shoe be replaced? We need a quick effective fix

Your pivot shoe can indeed be replaced. For that, I recommend the 15-177. Your old shoe was discontinued but this new one can work in its place. You can reuse the old coil springs if they're in good condition as well. Let us know if you have any other questions!

I don't see any orders under this email address, unfortunately. We're confident the 15-177 will replace your old pivot shoe, however.
