Andersen 7073 Operator Cover Question

I have several Andersen 7073A/B wooden casement windows that were installed around 1966. The arm operator measurements match parts 39-365/39-366, but I was hoping there might be a way to install a cover over the operator base and replace the crank instead of replacing the entire arm operator. The size of the operator cover is 3 3/4" wide, 2 7/8" deep, and 11/16" high.

It's not possible to replace just the cover, unfortunately. There is no cover, modern or otherwise, that can snap on top of this, and these old operators in general were simply not made to work that way. The issue is that the operator already has a cover, it just happens to be permanently affixed to the mechanism. You have no choice but a full replacement.
You're looking at a pretty extensive project here. Not only will you need to find a way to adapt these modern parts to work, but you will likely also need to make alterations to the old wood sill trim to accommodate the new style.
