Awning window operator

The operator I have looks a lot like your 39-348. The mounting holes are different. The casting has the name Standard Thompson and the ends of the arms have metal "buttons" that ride in the channel. The distance between the buttons is 34 3/4".

I need a little more information. First -- the mounting holes are different -- how so? What is the distance between the mounting holes? Second, can you send us some photos of your operator with the gears and arms exposed? It's hard to make a recommendation without seeing the operator.

Your operator is a Thompson operator from back in the 50's that was commonly used on Andersen awning windows. This hasn't been made for a long, long time, and there are no known working substitutes. That said, take a look at our 39-389 Andersen operator kit to see if you can adapt this to your window. There is no guarantee it will work, but we don't have anything closer. Another idea is our 39-015, which was made by Truth hardware. This could possibly work as a substitute, as well, but again I can't be sure. In either case, you will likely need to make up a new wood sill cover to accommodate the different style base. Take a look at the parts I mentioned and see what you think.
