Quick Learner from VIRGINIA
I HAVE A BLOCK AND TACKLE ROD FOR SERIES TWINSEAL DOUBLE HUNG MW WINDOW. IT IS JUST A SPRING WITH A ROD IN THE SPRING THEN IT ATTACHES AT THE TOP. THE COIL SPRING IS 12 7/16" AND 3/8" WIDE. I AM TRYING TO FIND A REPLACEMENT BALANCER

Hi there! Looks like you have a rod-type balance. These aren't made anymore, but we could get one of our channel balances to work as a substitute. I'm just not sure which one to go with. Do you have an undamaged version of this balance that we can review? If so, can you show me a clear picture of the bottom? I want to see whatever clip, hook, shoe, or whatever else is down there. That will allow us to find a modern replacement.

Thanks.

I hope these photos will help

This is exactly what we needed to see, thank you!

The modern replacement option for this balance is our Series 795. I am very confident that this will work for you, however the conversion process is a little more involved than for other rod-type balances out there. Fortunately, we have a detailed video that outlines the process step-by-step. I highly recommend watching it, it should tell you everything you need to know to complete this project.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to help as best as I can.

Thanks for your help. One question: the 26-366 vinyl window sash pivot bar was the right size for the window except the end (part that goes into the series 795 channel balance needs to be a 1/4 of an inch longer. Do you have a part that will work?

Ah, I'm afraid we've never been able to find that specific version of the 26-366. I've seen it before, but it doesn't appear to be made anymore.

You can still get our 26-366 to work but it will require drilling a new hole in the sash so that you can move it up a little. I've done that myself when I ran into this same issue and found it worked well. Just make sure not to hit the glass when drilling, or else you'll crack it. Be very careful.
