Hello, I âm trying to find replacement channel balances for my tilt windows. They are double-hung Loewen wooden windows and your part 27" Series 751 Channel Balance 26HD seems almost exactly what I need other than your part is ribbed and my balances are not. Do you carry a non-ribbed version? Or can a rinbed balance be used to replace a non-ribbed balance? Thank you.

They are tilting windows, 27" long balances, 26HD on the stamp, 9/16" wide, long and short s-hooks on top (I believe the short s-hook is for the back sash and long s-hook for front?), and knife shoe pivot on bottom. Please see attached photos. I have two sets of double hung windows that need replacement balances, so a total of four sashes, therefore will need 8 balances, I believe, with 4 of the short s-hooks and four of the long s-hooks. Let me know if you need more info and if you have an appropriate replacement. Thanks very much.

Thanks for posting! Our S751-27 will work fine as a replacement for your channel balances. Like your balances, ours has a 9/16" channel. Both of the s-clips are sold separately from the balances. The short s-clip is part 19-029 and the long s-clip part 19-030.

Thank-you for the reply. So it's not a problem that that particular balance is ribbed, while mine are not?

My apologies, the ribbed channel on the Series 751 is not interchangeable with your plain channel. These balances will need to be a special order balance. It will have the channel from the Series 770 balance with the shoe from the 15-014 attached.

The weight ranges for the stamps on the Series 770 channel are different from the stamps on the Series 751 style balances; the 26HD can hold a weight range of 19-24lbs. This means for the S770-27 there are two possible options that could apply here. The 27C, which can hold a sash weight of 17 to 22lbs or the 27D, which can hold a weight of 22 to 26lbs. So, I'll need to know the exact weight of your window.

I'll need to know the exact number of balances you are looking to purchase so that I can get the quote made up for you. Please also be aware that there is an order minimum of (2) balances per custom order.

I will need 8 balances with 27D for sash weight. With that I will also need 4 of the long s-clips and 4 of the short s-clips. On your website it shows the S770 channels come with a plastic mount on the top and a square terminal clip on the bottom - I assume that since this will be a custom order those two components will not be attached to my balance (as they won't work for my set-up) and will be replaced with the knife lock shoe on the bottom and then the s-clips on top? I am in Canada so will need the quite to include the extra shipping. Thanks for your help.

My apologies for the delay in response. I've just forwarded over an order link with a quote for the (8) requested balances. As discussed this will have the plain Series 770 balance channel along with the black 15-014 knife lock shoe. There will be a rivet attached to the top of the balance instead of the screw plug to accommodate for the S clip.

Please be sure to add the S clip to your online cart along with the balances from the link as the clips are sold separately from the balance. Again, they are parts 19-029 and 19-030.

You'll be able to calculate the shipping via the website once you've added all of the parts to your online cart.
