Balance clip

I have some Jordan aluminum windows that work fine, except one of the balance clips broke. This clip is located on the upper part of the window and you usually pull them out to either remove the lower sash or to reset the balances.
I bought your replacement style clip with the u shaped bottom, 16-002. The original did not have a U and was more linear in shape, How do I use or mount this clip to work properly??
