Balance for this type of window?

Quick Learner from Illinois

Hi there.

I found you guys online and just called and the nice agent said to submit photos to see if you have this hardware.

These photos represent the balance I have for my windows. This balance is functional and fine but there is one window where the bottom part of the balance broke (maybe it's called a plate?). Meaning the picture that starts with E. However I don't know if you sell that part individually or the entire balance as a part. That's the first question.

The second question is are balances sold in pairs or singulary. If the later then I'm need the LEFT balance.

The other item I need is a pair (L and R) of those plastic locking mechanisms in photo D. How are those sold?

Finally, I'm a quick study as I've indicated. But will need some initial instructions in installing this balance in whatever shape or form.

Thanks and looking forward to your response.

Hey, Joe! We can definitely help with all the parts you pointed out.

Starting with the plate you mentioned, I'm not sure exactly what you need. Looking at your second photo, I see both a pivot bar (the long brassy piece of metal screwed into the sash) and the pivot shoe (the rectangular block of plastic in the jamb track).

The pivot bar, at least, is easy. I recommend using our 26-040 to replace yours. You'll note that it only has one screw hole instead of two but that should be fine. Just make sure that the one screw hole the 26-040 has matches at least one of the hole positions in your original. Refer to the 26-040 dimensions on its store page.

If you need a pivot shoe, I'll need to know its thickness in order to recommend a match. You may find it easier to measure if you remove it from the window first. This will make sure we find something that fits in the track without being too loose or too tight, which is important.

Concerning your spiral balance, you'll want either our Series 900 (3/8" diameter tube) or Series 600 (5/8" diameter tube). The only difference is, obviously, the diameter of the tube, so you'll want to measure yours to confirm the best match. Other than that, these balances are sold individually and can work on either the left or right side interchangeably.

The last photo is of your tilt latch. These can be sold in pairs or individually, depending on what you have. Before I make a recommendation, I'll need to know the distance between the two screw holes, center-to-center. That will allow us to find something that will fit without having to drill new holes.

Let me know once you can get that information to me and we can work from t here.
