Balance replacements

Quick Learner from Seattle
Please help to determine which product I need: I do not understand the differences between the various series of balances in the photos on your site. My window is 34 wide by 27 tall. It does not tilt. The broken balance is stamped 25-5 DL. Both ends are winged. See photos. Thank you in advance.

Hello there!

I recommend our S380-26 or S385-26 channel balances with the 2550 option. The important difference between the two is the depth of the bottom fitting as shown in the image below. You'll have to measure yours to determine which Series is best for this repair.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you. S385 it is. I appreciate your expertise and advice. My follow up question is whether it's mechanically wise to replace just the broken part. I will gladly replace both if the window will function better, but do not want to be wasteful. Thanks again, for your time and energy.

No problem! I'm glad I could be of help. We always recommend replacing the balances on both sides of the window if that's what you're asking. Pairing a new balance with an old one would cause the new balance to wear out a lot faster since it'd have to pick up the slack for its weaker counterpart.

Again, thank you. I will replace both sides.
