Balance shoe that is 3/8" wide that inserts into a channel balance that is concave at the bottom end.

Hello Swisco--The 15-195B's I purchased are 1/2" where they need to be 3/8" in order to fit into a channel balance that is concave at the bottom end. Do you sell such a balance shoe. (See photo.) Thank you!

Hello there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. Can you show us a photo of the front of the old shoe? Would it also be possible for us to see a photo of the concave channel?

Hello Emily-Nice to hear from you. You can see the the concave (inverted) channel in the photo that shows the old shoe. I will send you a photo of the front of the old shoe. When I attached the 15-195B to the bar on the "inverted" channel balance, the inversion prevented the shoe from rotating into the correct position.

Hello Emily--The current shoe is to the left of the 15-195B, which does not fit in the "Inverted" channel balance. Is this replacement shoe available from Swisco, or do I need to buy different channel balances? Thank you!

Thanks for getting back to me! Your old shoe looks like our 15-236. This has a closed cam so you'll want to make sure yours does too. Take a look at the specifications and see what you think.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Emily,

I think I made the same mistake ordering 15-195 and 15-195B which are too thick to fit in my balances. It seems like 15-236 should work but my broken part has Open Cam instead of Closed Cam. Do you think it would work with my balance?

Thanks.

No, we don't believe the closed cam will work for you. In this case, you would have to replace the whole balance with our Series 795. You can keep the 15-195B shoes you ordered and use them with the replacement balances. Your next step should be to measure the metal channel of the old balance to determine the length. There should also be a stamp on the metal channel that will indicate what stamp option you'll need to select for the replacements.

Note that the S795 installs with a screw. If yours uses a hook, please let us know as this would have to be a custom order.

Let me know if you have any questions!
