Balance spring on older Crestline double hung window

Many thanks for your correspondence. The Series 751 Ribbed balance has a broken knife shoe, the 15-014. If the the cord and spring is fine, you just need to replace the shoe; if not, you will need a new Series 751 ribbed balance. See our media guide how to remove the jamb liner to get to the balance.

A contractor from Holland MI says:
A customer asked me to fix his double hung that does not stay up. He believes it is a crestline window. The pictures are the channel that the spring is in and the small piece that came out and was separated from the rest or the spring apparatus. Will I need to get a whole new channel with spring included, or can this be fixed?

Thanks!

Dan
