Balancer replacement

A quick learner from Texas says:
Hello, I need to replace balancers on one of my windows. The photos are of the balancer in my window that has tempered glass. I need the exact same balancer in my new window that now has tempered glass as well. The balancer number I need says 27C. The bottom part number is PAT 4610108. Looks like the top is a u-shaped clip. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

AJ

Hi AJ. This looks like a Series 795 channel balance. Confirm that the length of the metal channel is 27" long. If so, see our S795-27. You'll need a stamp option of 27C. Your old balance attached to the window track with a hook, whereas ours use screw-on tabs. Because the slot in your window track is a square-shape, you can simply buy our 26-200 screw plug to insert into that square hole. You can then install the new balances via a screw.

You will need to confirm the type of T-Lock Shoe your balance has. Our Series 795 come with the 15-195 1-1/4" Closed Cam T-Lock Shoe by default. You may instead need our 15-195B Open Cam T-Lock Shoe, or the 15-194 1" T-Lock Shoe. You can buy one of these other shoes separately and install it as shown in the video below.

The difference between the 15-195 and the 15-195B is simply that the 15-195 has a closed cam shoe and the 15-195B has an open cam shoe, which in turn affects the pivot bars these T-Lock Shoes are compatible with. How can you determine which you have? Look at the metal cam of your existing T-Lock Shoe. Can you 'see through it', i.e. it has no wall in the back? If so, you have the 15-195B. If you can't see through it, however, i.e. if there is a metal wall in the rear of the cam, then you have the 15-195

If you have a closed cam shoe, you'll also want to check the size or width of the shoe to be safe. The 15-195 is 1-1/4" in size; if you have a shoe that's just 1" wide, see our 15-194

Let me know if you have any other questions.
