Bathroom window. Both springs are broken. Only number I see is 4. I assume 4 lb spring.

Thanks for posting. I am confident we can help replace these Coil Balances, but I'd like you to remove the sash so we can have a clearer view of the pivot shoe that the springs connect to. The identity of the pivot shoe will tell us the coils you need. Many thanks.

Is this what you need?

That will do, thanks. That looks like a 15-177 Pivot Shoe, which works with Series 152 Coil Balance springs. For each replacement coil spring you have to choose a spring weight. The spring weight reflects the weight the individual spring can support. To know what to select, give me the exact weight of the window sash the coil springs support, and I can work it out for you.

It looks like some of this hardware needs to be replaced beyond the springs themselves. The pivot shoe, again, is the 15-177. It also looks like the pivot bar, or the metal pin that connects the pivot shoe to the window sash, might be broken as well. This shoe works with a few different kinds, but I suspect you need either the 26-030, 26-226, 26-352 or 26-466. Compare an undamaged pivot bar if possible with the options below and see if any of these match what you need.

Finally, if the old housing for the coils is undamaged, I'd just reuse them. Otherwise, see the newer style 15-143, 15-144 and 15-145 pieces. These 'sandwich' around each individual coil spring. Let me know if you have further questions!
