Binding Mechanism

Handy Person from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
The locking mechanism that I have seems to bind when trying to lock it.
I have removed, cleaned, lubricated (not sure if I'm supposed to lube it), and made sure that every screw is tight, even in the door jam bracket.
When I lube it, it seems fine for a while, so I don't know if the mechanism is worn out, or if I need to use a special oil/grease. Currently, I use G96 Gun Treatment spray oil.
If you believe that I need a replacement part, can you tell me where to get one, and can you tell me what the locking mechanism model/part number I have? I only see a date code, and a couple of Patent numbers on the frame. Thanks.

Hello,

If your mortise lock is sticking, I'd recommend replacing it with the 82-265 rather than trying to lubricate the original. Just look over the dimensions on our product page to confirm that they match up to yours. Thank you!
