Block and Tackle Balance with T shoe

Question

I think I'm on the right track but would like confirmation.

I have client with windows that have missing and failed balances and they appear to be the crossbow type with 1" T shoes (see pics) I am intending to order the 795 series based on collapsed measurement from T to top of block/tackle and weight of sash. It also appears that I have to order the smaller shoes 15-194 and appropriate pivot bars.

Does all that look and sound correct?

Also I was thinking of filing/grinding the 1.25" shoes they come with down to 1" but wanted to know if you have run into any issues with that.

Hello! As a matter of fact, you are on the right track. The Series 795 is the modern balance that we used to replace old, discontinued crossbow balances like your original. The process is a little involved, though, and some alterations are necessary. I recommend watching the video below, which takes you through it step-by-step.
