Block and Tackle Window Balance Replacement

Question

I purchased a New Era Modular home in 2001 that came with single hung vinyl windows.  The block and tackle systems are getting stuck and failing.  The window manufacturer no longer exists as they seemed to have gone bankrupt.  The balances have a "t-post" that goes into the side of the window at the bottom and a small bracket that attaches with a screw to the inside of the window channel.  The only other information I have is Series: 3000 SH H-R25-46x48 and s/n 430.  Located next to the 430 are these numbers as well 298452.  Any help you could offer at finding replacement balances would be appreciated.  Thank you

Thanks for writing in. I'm afraid information about the window won't be particularly helpful in narrowing down the balances you need, as this hardware varies across and within brands. Based on your description, it sounds like you might have an old crossbow-style balance. If so, it can be replaced by our Series 795 Channel Balance. Watch the video below. If your old balance doesn't resemble the crossbow balance, we will need to see pictures of the entire balance removed from the window.
