Block and tackle pulley system

Home Owner from Burleson, TX 76028
I have several 23 year old windows (same brand) with lift failure, unknown brand. The top pulley is broken, as is the metal channel (5/8 inch wide) is stripped at the top. Springs are OK. The entire vinyl channel where the shoe fits is about 1 and 3/8 wide and 5/8 inch deep. The present shoe is about 1 and 3/4 inch high and is working order. I could remove it, but it would require cutting an access slot in the vinyl channel. I am looking for a replacement unit and / or a double groove pulley that would fit into a 5/8 inch metal channel. My preference is a replacement unit that would work, with a shoe that would work in my vinyl channel. But if they don’t make something like that, a double pulley that would fit into a 5/8 inch channel could probably be made to work with the parts i have. Thanks!!!

Thanks for your post! We can supply the replacement for this window balance. I'll just need to know whether it installs at the top of the window using a hook/clip or a screw.

In regard to the shoe, I believe you'll need the 15-129 Pivot Shoe but you'll need to compare the specifications to confirm this is the correct match.

There are two methods you can use to remove it; the cutout method or the jamb spreader method (requires the 75-069). Both tutorials have been tagged below for your review.

It installs with a screw.
Thanks.

Thanks for confirming. You'll need the S770-29 to replace your window balances. Our 29C stamp will support a sash weighing 18 to 23lbs.
