Bought wrong lock

Quick Learner from Denver, CO
I recently purchased a 82-239 lock but the face plate didn't line up quite right with the door and the original face plate didn't line up with the new lock. I think I might actually need the 82-265 lock. I've attached photos with and without the face plate so you can see how it lines up. The "outer" holes on the face plate allow for attachment to the door (@ 11" spread). Will this 82-265 lock work? Can I return the 82-239 lock I purchased? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The 82-239 that you purchased and the 82-265 are very similar locks except that the 82-265 uses a faceplate to mount the mortise to the outside of the door frame. If that's how your original lock installed, then I agree that the 82-265 may be what you need as long as the dimensions on our product page match up to yours.

I ordered mortise lock item #82-265 and successfully installed it in my sliding door. But it does not match up with the old "keeper" to lock.
Does this keeper item #82-249 match up correctly with 82-265?
And if so, does it possibly come in white color?

Hello,

You are correct that the 82-249 keeper is compatible with both the 82-265 and 82-239 mortise locks. It is not available in white which shouldn't matter too much since it's not visible while the door is closed but you could paint the keeper in a pinch. Thanks for posting!
