Broken Pivot shoe

Question

There is an opening at the top of the track to remove spring coil and shoe, but there is a stud sticking out midway blocking removal. Can I remove this without harm? Would like to purchase 2 pivot shoes.

Hello there. This pivot shoe looks like our 15-177, which works with Series 152 Coil Balances. Please compare. Yes, you should be able to remove that stud without any issue to extract the pivot shoe from the cutout. Frankly it's a little weird that that's in the track to begin with, unless if it was installed a makeshift stop so the sash only goes so high. Either way, removing it, even if just temporarily, to get the shoe out shouldn't be a problem. Let me know if you have further questions.
