Broken Shoe Coils

Quick Learner
Top sash was not staying shut and kept sliding down. Found out the culprit is a broken shoe coil and am going to replace both sash's (top sash with broken coils and bottom sash with rusted coils).
previous owner had no knowledge of the kind of windows they are so it's been hard to find the exact shoe coil to purchase. There is no numbers on the coils but does read certain-teed.
please help ASAP as my window isn't able to be secured in a high crime area. Thank you for any info.

Thanks for your post! This window balance shoe can likely be replaced with the 15-259 Coil Balance Pivot Shoe. Although, you'll likely need to search another window in the home, for undamaged assemblies, to compare the dimensions.

The existing pivot bar likely will not be a match so you'll also need the 26-083 Pivot Bar.

Dimensions for 15-259

The compatible coil springs are the Series 159 Coil Balances. To determine the correct coil weight option, you'll need to look for a stamp/marking on the metal. If they are hard to read due to the rust, you'll need to confirm the exact weight of the window sash to determine the correct coil for the repair.

The 15-255 Coil Single Support is used to cover the springs.
