Broken coil springs
We need to replace the coils for a window installed in a new build from about 2003.
The window is 33 1/8 inches wide by 29 7/8 inches in height and 1 3/8 inches thick. The weight is about 18.8 pounds.
There are no part numbers on the pieces.
Hello there. I see you posted previously about coil balances and Emily reached out to you here. I am sure we can help, but there are many different kinds of coil balance systems. Please send us a photo of the pivot shoe the springs attach to. The identity of the pivot shoe helps narrow down the coil springs needed. We'll do our best to help from there.
Not quite. The pivot shoe is further down the window track. See the video below for context. Even just removing the sash from the window and giving us a clear view of the shoe would help. We'll do our best to narrow it all down from there.
That should do it, thanks. This pivot shoe looks like an older version of the 15-177. This shoe works with Series 152 Coil Balance springs. If the window sash weighs exactly 18.8 pounds, you can use a pair of the S152-9 9 pound springs, one for each side of the sash. This will give you an overall support of 18 pounds--being within 1 pound of the actual sash weight works just fine; just weigh the sash again to be sure you have the right weight. Let me know if you have further questions.
