Broken lock

Handy Person from Clearwater, FL
This door was slammed shut in the locked position. That broke the top locking hook. All the dimensions fit your 82-265. This is a "Windoor" door which was made in Orlando FL. The company is now out of business. Is this a industry "standard" lock?
I am the homeowner and plan to replace it myself.

The 82-265 is unfortunately not industry standard. To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't classify anything as that, since patio door hardware can be pretty specific from case to case. However the 82-265 is fairly common and I agree that it appears to match your existing mortise, at least based on seeing the face.

Your next step should be to remove the old mortise to verify that the rest of the design matches, too. I would especially be mindful of the slots that take the thumb lever tail; your thumb lever in particular is a fairly unique design and you should definitely check on that before you buy anything. The 82-265 is meant to take tails that are flat and angled at 45 degrees.

Here's both sides and the guts view. Some parts fell out when I removed it. The mounting hole spacing is 11' and it's 3/4" wide. The lock handle is separate from the door handle.
Could I replace the other piece on the door frame to match and make it work?
Thanks for your help.

I'm glad you sent these photos. I'm much less optimistic that our 82-265 will work for your door than I was before. In fact, I don't believe anything in our inventory will.

The issue here is the depth; just eyeballing your photo i can tell that your old mortise is much, much deeper than ours. That means that if you were to install the 82-265 in your door, the slots that interact with the latch won't reach far enough into the frame to line up with the holes in the door. There'd be no way for you to lock it.

I'm going to go with my initial suspicions and say that your door is a unique design. You may be better served getting in touch with the original maker of the door to see if they can supply you with this exact part.

Thanks for your reply. The original maker, Windor, went out of the sliding glass door business in Florida.
Could I change out the keeper and make it work?

That's unfortunate. I don't believe changing the keeper will work, either, as that has no relation to the issue I'm describing. It's not that your lock won't meet the keeper, it's that the holes that interact with the thumb lever won't be exposed. In other words, it won't be possible to lock or unlock the door.
