Broken parts

A home owner says:
As you can see the coil balance covers are all messed up and also something is stopping me from moving the window up and down. It feels like it's completely stuck. Also one of the tilt latches in the picture too broke off. So I was wondering do I just need a new cover for the coil balances? Also can the bottom window sash just be replaced if need be?

Thanks for posting. Your tilt latches look a lot like our 26-243 and 26-244. To determine if these are the best fit for your window, take a look at the dimensions from part 26-243 and compare them to your existing latches.

There are many reasons that could contribute to the coil balance support being broken. It could be that just replacing it will repair the window. However, to confirm with certainty, you'll need to examine the pivot shoes and coil springs to make sure they are still intact.

Your cover looks like it could likely be the 15-205 triple coil support.
