Broken tilt out vinyl window part

I was washing the top sash of my tilt out window and a piece along the left side broke off. I heard a spring snap and a small piece of plastic landed on the window sill. I was not able to get my upper sash to stay up. I was finally able to do so by pushing the upper sash up while the bottom sash was out and turning the pin holder up to the bottom of the window. For now this keeps the bugs out. I put the bottom sash back in but that doesn't seem to want to stay open. In pic #3 & 4 I am able to see a piece of metal type strip connects the two. This is on the right side that is not broken. Picture 5 shows the broken piece with a metal piece that now hangs down. I am not able to lock my window as the windows do not line up properly. I have called window repair people in my area and no one wants to do the job. I have always done my own handy work but I certainly do not want to ruin the window. I think my main problems are finding the replacement part and figuring out how I get the old part out and the new part in. Can you give me any help? Thank you so much.

Hello,
Your photos remind me of the S140 Quick-tilt coil balance assembly but you would need to remove the original hardware to confirm that the specifications match up to yours. There should also be a number on your original coils that indicates the strength option needed for your replacements. We've also related a few videos to help you through the replacement process. Take a look and thanks for posting!
