Broken window shoe

Home Owner
Several window shoes upper and lower have broken on our double hung, tilt window.  We want to be sure which parts to order.  The balance springs seem intact, but are you supposed to replace those at the same time?  The dimensions of the shoe are 9/16 depth, about 1.5 height, and 1.25 width.  We are also wondering if the second coil cartiridge pictured in the window is extra or supposed to be used for something?  We have also included the sticker info if that helps in determining parts, thanks!

Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. Your pivot shoe reminds me of the 15-177. This uses the Series 152 coil springs. You can reuse your old springs if they're in good shape and screw to the side of the pivot shoe. You'll want to remove the old hardware to confirm. I recommend watching the videos below. One goes over how to make a cut out in the window if there isn't one already, and the other video will detail how to determine the coil weights.

The second coil cartridge is holding the coil balance, which is also a part of the assembly and attaches to the pivot shoe.
