Caldwell channel balances

It appears you have either the S380-35 or the S385-35 channel balance.

To determine which balance you have, you will need to know the measurement for the depth of your bottom shoe. Review the diagram below to confirm.

Also, I cannot cross-reference the stamp from your balance, so I'll need to know the exact weight of your sash to determine the weight range your balance will need to support.

Thanks for confirming that information. Windows that use the 18-161 top sash guide traditionally also use the Series 380, but that's not necessarily a guarantee. We always recommend measuring the depth of the shoe to verify.

The part pictured here is the top sash guide, part 18-161 that is installed at the top corners of the sash. Unfortunately, this will not help to identify the balance you'd need with certainty.

The shoe is connected to the bottom of the channel balance, located near the wheel and pulley system. Please refer to the diagram shared on 1/25/23 to use as a reference to confirm the depth of the shoe on your balance.

Okay, great! Thank you for your photos. The shoe is the one that has the two white, plastic wheels installed directly above it.

So, because your shoe is a non-standard depth, the balance will have to be a custom made. It's basically the same construction as the two she mentioned except the bottom shoe swapped out for that 15-029.

These balances will be 35" long and will use a 3460 stamp option, which carries 34 through 39 pounds. That should be perfect for your 37 pound sash.
