Hi I have a channel balance measuring 29 inches in length. About 1/2" wide. Back if sash reads 27 4 11 gw cmc. Can't find the exact length in your catalog. There is a white cord in the inner base and spring. Thanks

Hey, Cathy. Are you sure the length of the metal channel is 29"? Usually, with a stamp like 27 4, it would only measure 28" long. Make sure not to incorporate the nylon attachments in your measurement, just the metal channel.

Great! That settles that. Now, do you know what Series you have? If not, you can look at our Channel Balance Home Page and follow the steps to determine what Series is best for you.

No, that is likely not the balance Series. I recommend that you browse through the link I supplied above until you find your Series. If you can't fine what you have there, I will need to see pictures of the nylon attachments on either side of your balance. Let me know.

Will I need to change both balances. One seems fine, the other has a snapped cord. Does the entire balance need to be replaced or just the snaps? Thanks

If the cord is broken, then you will need to replace the entire channel balance, yes. I can tell you what Series would best replace your own, I just need to know which of the shoes I mentioned above is a match.
It might not be a bad idea to replace both balances at the same time. This would reduce wear on the older balance, and you can always set it aside to use as an emergency backup.

Unfortunately, I can't tell what bottom shoe you have based on the pictures you submitted. The dimensions for these guys get pretty specific, and I can't just eyeball it. You will have to look at the image I posted above and carefully compare those measurements to your own shoe and tell me which is closer between the 15-004 and 15-005.

Looks like it may be 15 004?? What is your return policy?

I believe the shoe is 15-005. Is the only difference between the 005 and 004 the 1inch width? Would like to place the order ASAP! What else do you require? How long to receive the product? Thanks

Yes, the only difference between the 15-004 and 15-005 is that depth. The 15-004 has a depth of 1-3/32", while the 15-005 has a depth of 1". Knowing what shoe you have s the last thing we need to determine your Series. Like I said, I can't eyeball it, so you will have to use your best judgement.
Again, the 15-005 goes with our Series 380 balance, and the 15-005 goes with our Series 385 balance.
You can see our Return Policy by visiting this link.
