Channel

Handy Person from Milwahkee
18-3 BISN

Only markings I see...I'm in maintenance for a real estate company. Although the part I'm looking for is for my house. Looks like a junk window but won't replace until spring. I've replaced channels before but not this style.

Hey there. This looks like a Series 795 Channel Balance. You'll need to consider a few things to find the exact replacement. First, measure the metal channel. Do not include the bottom 'T-Lock Shoe' in that measurement. I believe your balance will either be 18" or 19" long. Next, you'll need to choose a stamp option, which represents the balance's strength. Your old balance's stamp of 18-3 is a little unusual. To know what stamp to select, weigh the window sash. You can then match that exact weight with the correct stamp option. For more details on replacing these balances, including picking the correct T-Lock Shoe, see the guide I have listed on this page.

It also looks like the sash pivot bar that fits into the T-Lock Shoe snapped. To replace it, show us an undamaged one, and we should be able to help.
