Channel Balance

A quick learner from Waco says:
16 year-old home. Non-tilt metal windows. Unknown make but assume Alenco since my top sash guide matches your catalog part. My balance (9/16" x 28") matches your picture for S395 but my bottom shoe is 1 3/16" deep instead of 1 1/8". Should I assume difference is due to wear?

Paul from SWISCO responded:

You have an Alenco window that uses our 18-174 top sash guide and S395-28 balance. Our bottom balance shoe is slightly deeper than the original, but that is caused by wear and tear. Take a look and see what you think. If it looks like it will work then you can go with the 2730 option that holds a sash weight range of 13-19 pounds.
