Question

I need to replace a number of these window balances

Just found out I also need 28D

Thus 2 pair of 28C length 29 15/16"

And 4 pair of 28D length 30 1/8"

This looks like either a Series 380 or Series 385. The only difference between these two balances is the depth, or 'heel-to-toe' measurement, of the bottom nylon shoe, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best.

To determine the balance length you need, measure the length of the metal channel, but do not include the nylon fittings in these measurements. Based on your stamps, they should both be 29" long, but check to confirm. In this case, you'd need either the S380-29 or S385-29. Finally, you'll need to choose a stamp option. Your stamp code of 28C conforms to our stamp option of 2830, while your stamp code of 28D conforms to our stamp option of 2840. Let me know if you have any other questions.
