Channel balance 32-9 KW CMC 7

Quick Learner from Citrus Heights, CA
I want to replace the channel spring balances on two window sashes that are 44x34 and double glazed. The number stamped on the old channel is 32-9 KW CMC 7. I need to know what series to order and which option number to select.

I also need to replace the top sash guide on one window but don't know the model number to order.

Thanks for posting, Rod! Before I can offer an applicable replacement for your channel balance, I just need a bit more information. First, can you give me the length of the metal channel? Please do not incorporate the plastic attachments in your measurements.

Next, we need the weight of your sash, please remove and place on a scale to get us the weight in pounds. Your stamp, 32 9, does not correspond to any stamp options we have available. As such, we will have to know how heavy your sash is.

As for the top sash guide, though, please take a look at our 18-171. This looks very similar to your own. Please compare to your hardware and let me know what you think!

The window sash weighs 35 pounds, Channel length is 32 inches not including the end pieces.

Thank you. That is a very heavy sash! The 3160 stamp option should would work for you; a 32" Series 385 channel balance with a 3160 stamp option can support a sash weight range of 32 through 35 pounds.

To begin, please take a look at S385-32 with the option 3160.

Please keep in mind that the weight range capacity information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate
