Channel balance

Quick Learner from Mt Pleasant SC
These pics are the top and bottom and full length of a balance that is marked 3440 and then a smaller marking OP and BSI perpendicular to the OP marking. Can you identify this balance and are they available?

I think we can replace this, but it will have to be a special order. I think we would use our Series 770 but with the bottom clip swapped out for a hook like our 62-105. Does that look good to you?

I have just a couple questions before we begin.

First, can you tell me how your balance installs at the top? Does it just screw in place or does it use another hook?

Can you also tell me the exact weight of the sash and the length of the metal channel? That will let us determine what Series 770 size to use.

Finally, how many of these did you need?

Once we have this information we can work out the final details and get started on this custom balance.

The pics are:

1- full length laying on its side

2- close up of bottom block

3- bottom of channel

4- top of channel

The stamped is is 2840 and 3440.

Don't know the manufacturer, but they're vinyl windows with locking mechanism on the flange where you lift up or pull down to operate window. Also they're tilting windows.

I need a set of both. Can you help? Thank you.

Thank you! Yes, we can definitely supply these. I am confident that the Series 770 and 62-105 custom combo that I mentioned before will work, but there's still one detail I'd like you to clear up. The top of your balance appears to have both a screw hole and a rivet, which could potentially be where a hook is installed. Can you tell me how these balances install to the track at the top? Do they use screws or a rivet?

Finally, when you say you need a set of both, do you mean you need 2 of each? I've had many customers define what a set is differently, so I wanted to be 100% sure.
