28DS 37 Channel balance

The stamp you gave us only indicates the strength of the spring, it's not a part number or anything. Can you show me a clear picture of both the top and bottom nylon fitting? That will allow us to figure out what the Series is.

Can you also confirm the exact weight of your sash? Your stamp indicates a sash weight of 37 pounds, but it also indicates a somewhat uncommon "double spring" setup. I just want to be 100% sure.

Weighing the sash and getting an exact weight is the only way you will be able to choose the correct stamp option. We never recommend to guess at the stamp option because you will then be risking the chance of purchasing one that may be too heavy or too light for the window, therefore, not making the window function properly. Thank you so much! That's a huge help. That's good to hear; with a sash weight of 40.5 pounds, this balance will not have to be a custom order like I originally thought. 

So, to start with the Series, you definitely have either our S380-29 or S385-29. The only difference between these is the depth of the bottom shoe, so you'll have to measure yours to confirm the better choice, but it will only be one of these two.

As for the option, you'll go with the 2870 either way. Two balances with this stamp carry 39 through 42 pounds, which is perfect for your sash.
