Hi the number on the rod is 28B and I think its call the shoe the is a something that looks like an " a 1 "

Thanks for writing in. See either our S380-29 or S385-29. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. You will need a stamp option of 2820.

Hi Bob does it really matter that the shoes is not exactly the same as the one on the back. I am including a better picture

This right is under 1 inch do you think the 1 inch will work? Please see picture below.

It's important that they're as close as possible. Could it be that your old shoe wore down over time from friction? If so, our S380-29 may be what you need. In a worst case scenario you could always shave our shoe down a little.
