please let me know your part number. Mine is stencelled with "UB 28F" and engraved with "28F" on the opposite end.

Hi, Paul. Measure your bottom shoe as shown below. If it's 1" deep, choose Series 380. If the metal bar is 29" (measure; I suspect it is) then you can choose S380-29. "28F" is a spring code, which we call "2860" nowadays.

I have the same as Paul. But the measurement you show as 1? on the shoe is only 14/16?, not 1? exactly. Would this work?

I can't guarantee it will work without seeing, but I have seen balance shoes wear down from 1" to 15/16" or even 7/8" like you're describing. It sounds normal. If the balance is the same except for the 1/8" thinner shoe, you can file it down. Either way, it likely was originally a 1" balance shoe.
