Channel balance replacement
By chance do you have a direct replacement part for this?
Thank you for reaching out to us! We may have a replacement for this channel balance but I'm afraid I can't identify what Series you have. I would need to see clear photos of the top and bottom fittings in order to help. Can you also weigh your sash and tell us its precise weight? That will allow me to determine the proper spring strength calibration.
The length of the channel balance is 26" (inches)
I placed the channel balance on our scale but it didn't register any weight, I will make an effort to go to the nearby UPS store and see if they can weigh the channel balance.
Thank you for the additional photos! This is a huge help. It looks like you have either the S380-26 or S385-26 channel balance depending on the depth of the bottom fitting. You'll need to measure as shown below to see which Series matches best.
The sash is the glass panel that moves up and down, not the channel balance itself. A common bathroom scale will suffice!
Could you please let me know how I should determine which option to select?
For me to determine the appropriate spring strength option, I'll need you to weigh the window sash on a scale and tell me its precise weight. Your 25 9 stamp is outdated and doesn't match any of our options which is why it's important we have the weight of the sash.
Hopefully this helps you identify the option I should select.
Thanks for all your help too!
We actually need you to weigh the window sash, not the channel balance. The weight of just the balances themselves doesn't help us determine the proper strength calibration, unfortunately.
Yes, that is correct! No need to apologize! I understand how tricky these terms can be.
Hopefully this can help out in identifying the correct channel balance that I need.
Thank you very much for getting that for us. With a 30-pound sash, you have two choices: the 2560 or 2565 spring strength option. I'll go over the differences. The 2560 option can carry a sash weighing 28 to 30 pounds and the 2565 option can carry a sash weighing 30 to 33 pounds. The decision is ultimately yours!
My pleasure! Our return policy can be found here.
