Channel balance replacement

Handy Person from Gaithersburg, MD
The channel balance in my 2008 Pella vinyl replacement window came apart. I was able to easily remove the 28B channel, but the T-lock shoe remains in the side channel of the window frame. (See image) There doesn't seem to be enough clearance to pivot the shoe to allow removal.
1. What is the replacement part I need? Note the hook attachment for the cable. I'd order 2 and replace on both sides of the sash.
2. Is there a trick to removing the old T-lock shoe, and then installing new assembly. Most videos show that it only takes a 90 degree rotation for the T-lock shoe to slide in/out of the window frame's groove. Doesn't appear to be clearance in my window's groove to allow.
Thanks,
CJ

Thanks for writing in!  You'll need the S795-28 channel balance with a 15-198 hook attached. So, this will need to be a custom assembly. These balance will come fully assembled with the 15-195 shoe attached.

I've just forwarded a link with a quote for the (2) requested balances. Please let me know if you need a higher quantity of balances and I'll be happy to update the quote for you.

You'll be able to use this link to review the pricing of these balances and to place them in your online cart to make your purchase. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder for the link if you do not find it in your primary inbox.

In regard to removing the balances/shoes, if the "traditional" way of removing them doesn't work, you may need to spread the window channel to remove the shoes from the window channel.
