A metal clip that attaches to the window frame and halts the vertical movement of the channel balance as the window is being raised.

This looks like the 16-002 Balance Take-Out Clip. Yours could be worn and the spring tension is not holding it in place causing it to "peak" out of the window channel and catching the balance as it rides up. See what you think.
