I need to replace this balance, I believe it's a S170 - it measures 3/4" wide but the stamp says "10 J" can you help me with this?

Thanks for reaching out to us. The S170 springs are used with the 15-192 shoe. If your window is the CertainTeed brand, you'd want the 15-192.
If you have a Simonton brand window, you'd want the 15-259 and S159 coil springs instead. If you can upload a photo of the pivot bar, that would allow us to confirm the best replacement option.
To determine the proper spring weights, you will have to weigh the window sash and divide the weight by the total number of springs in the window.
