Coil Balance Replacement

Question

Hi, Based on the dimensions, the S140 looks like what I need to replace my 5 and 8 pounders. But I wanted to run a question by the experts before I placed my order:

1) on the existing assembly, the screw on the upper portion is in the center of the spring coil. On the S140 the screw looks to be below the coil. Will that make any difference in operation?

2) the "U" shaped grove where the window connects with the lower portion. Hard to tell from your picture, but this slot appears to be slightly smaller than the current hardware. Has that part of the item ever led to compatibility issues?

Thanks for posting. This old assembly is no longer made, but I don't believe the Series 140 is the best replacement option. Instead, I'd take a look at the 15-175. If the width and height of the shoe match, then I think this would work for you. This shoe uses our Series 152 Coil Balances. Let me know if you have further questions.
