Coil Balance Shoes

Question

Hi,
Are the coil balances pictured interchangeable? One is the "Coil Balance Shoe, Slate Blue" Item Number 15-175, the other one is the original one. If they are not interchangeable, please give me the Item Number for the original one (or its replacement).

Hello there. The 15-175 was recently discontinued, but we do believe the other pivot shoe you show, the 15-177, should work as a substitute. The width and thickness of the shoe should match--see the diagram below for reference--and they interface with the same kind of coil springs, our Series 152. Note that I don't believe we've gotten confirmation from the field (i.e., from handypersons, or customers like yourself) that this substitution works, but it is our best available option, so if you try it, do let us know how it works out for you--we'd appreciate the feedback.
