Coil Replacement

Question

I have a window using this style balance which currently extends approximately 30 inches. In order to allow the window to open enough to meet egress requirements I need to move the balance up and so would need a longer spring of about 36 inches. Can you identify this balance and our replacements or parts available ?

Thanks for posting. Your coil balance looks similar to our Series 140 coil balance assemblies. To confirm the correct strength for your windows, you'll need to look for any stamps/markings on the housing or coil of the balance assembly.

If there are none, you'll need to obtain the exact weight of your window and divide it by the number of coils in the window. For example if your window weighs 24lbs, you'll need the S140-12 to support a 24lb window.
