Coil Spring Balance Replacement

Question

My home was built in the mid-90s and a few of the coil spring balances in our single hung windows have snapped. I am told that a company called Quality Windows produced the windows and they were then distributed from Mid-Am Building Supply, which is a local company here in Moberly, MO. I don't have dimensions.

Your coil balance resembles the 15-087 pivot housing that uses the Series 180 coil springs. Compare the dimensions below to confirm a good fit! For a double coil setup, see the 15-086 tandem housing.

You will need to remove the assembly from the window to check the coils for any numbers stamped that indicates the weighted options needed to support the window sash.

If there are no markings, we will need to know the weight of the window sash to move forward. Please also see the 16-024 mounting bracket if a new one is needed.
