Coil balance

Handy Person from San Francisco
Hello, I'm trying to identify what parts I need to repair my window. Both housing pivot and tandem housing have Pat #5,353,548 stamped on them and both balance coils have 5# stamp on them.
By the looks of it one of the balance coils snapped in the tandem housing.
Should I replace the other (right) side as well, it seems to be operating fine for now?
Lastly, what is the correct replacement procedure? The plastic in the windows is not notched like some videos show. Do I need to notch it myself with likes of an oscillating tool to remove the old housings?
Thank you!

Hey there. Yes, this looks like the 15-087 Coil Shoe and 15-086 Tandem Housing. It works with Series 180 Coil Balance springs. For a spring stamped 5 use the S180-05 5 pound spring. Yes, you'll need to form your own cutout to get the system in and out. The video below shows how to do it for a similar coil spring system.
