Coil balance identification

Question

I have to replace a dual coil balance, there isn't a number stamp but instead letters, they are "B" and "C L". What do these translate to so I can get the correct weight?

To start, your old pivot shoe is discontinued and no longer made, but our 15-177 can work in exactly the same capacity with all the same hardware. Just make sure that yours has the same thickness at 9/16".

The 15-177 is also compatible with our Series 152 coil spring. This should also work for you, but I'm not sure what your old stamps might correspond to. Those are usually numbers, not letters. What you'll have to do is weigh your sash on a scale and then divide that by how many springs support it; in your case, 4. The number you get will be the weight rating needed per spring.
